I am always on the hunt for better tools, the ones that can improve the speed of makeup application and provide an absolutely flawless finish. An airbrushed look is always the desirable result when it comes to our everyday makeup.

This brush was a recommendation from a well known makeup artist (I can’t disclose any names here, I am sorry for that), so I had to purchase it straight away. Doing my research, I found out that more and more celebrity makeup artists are using and endorsing it so I thought to myself - they must know something, I must have this brush.

I won’t bore the audience with irrelevant information and I will go straight to the details. It is as soft as a feather and blends any type of liquid and stick foundation like a dream. It actually leaves an airbrushed finish. The company claims that this brush was designed with leading plastic surgeons in order to provide the perfect airbrushed result in concealer and makeup application.

When applying liquid foundation with it, the brush will end up “eating" a little more product than if you were to apply foundation with fingertips, but the result is absolutely worth it. Personally, I use it for everything; makeup, concealer, spot correction, cream contour, and even for eyeshadow blending and correction. I like unconventionally matching products and tools. I always try to use a different brushes for different things and play around with them. I suggest trying this out too; it’ll lead to discovering amazing tips and tricks by yourself. The possibilities are endless, it might not work every single time but we learn by experience and mistakes.

The bristles of the brush are densely packed, the fluffy end has a 12,800 hair count, and the smaller tighter end about 6,400 of hair count. I did not personally count them - I thoroughly like this brush but I would never do all that counting on my own. I love the fact that it is dual ended so you can do larger areas and details with one brush. The only thing that I do not like about it, is how hard it is to properly store a double ended brush. I store them vertically in brush holders and I doubt in this case it’d be considered hygienic. I end up placing it horizontally between my other makeup brushes for now. Any ideas on how to store it? I am curious to know!

One thing to be careful about when cleaning or washing it is to try and keep the cleansing liquid or water away from the joint between the metal and the wooden part as the brush handle might fall apart. If that ends up happening, try glueing it back or returning it (just remember to always keep the receipts). With proper care, good brushes can last for decades.

PRO TIP:

  • This is one of my favourite things to do in days I want to wear minimal makeup. A couple of drops (depends on your skin-type) from the Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Oil directly on the brush and blend your tinted cream or lightweight foundation with it. Thank me later for the lit-from-within-glow!

Love,

Equalia
