It might seem redundant that we bring up another post with a similar topic. We know that it's the second SPF in a row, yet we felt that after the introductory, detailed post about UVA and UVB damage, you'd be searching for a product that'll work daily for you and also moisturize the skin. This can be used as a primer as well; we're trying to simplify our lives, remember?
The entire Equalia beauty team is obsessed with skincare, by now all the readers know this too. There are tons of products on the market that include an SPF protection and offer other benefits to the skin. If I could, I'd try them all. I've been an avid lover of La Roche-Posay products in the past, especially the original Effaclar Duo and it made sense to me to give this one a try as well. Upon using it, I immediately started to think about how this product differs from other SPF moisturizers I've tried out. What stood out at first is that there is absolutely no white residue left on the skin as it happens with other SPF products. It goes on the skin easily, and the tiniest amount covers the entire face. Seeing as how we're enjoying the winter time now, I find that this cream is perfect for the mornings where I need to skim through my beauty routine, without missing the essentials. After washing my face, I'll apply this product and I won't have to add a moisturizer and a primer. This product is a great addition, especially for those who feel as if they don't need spf in the winter. Newsflash, we do need SPF in the winter as well!
I'm happy to report that it doesn't feel greasy or whatsoever. The product sinks into the skin nicely and does in fact cover any spots left from acne or other type of scars! I tend to hear that people with oily skin will avoid SPF products due to the shine factor. I have not felt it make my skin neither oiler, nor shinier at all. I understand that most people with oily skin are concerned with moisturizers, seeing as how they tend to clog pores. I've been using this product for quite some time now and I haven't encountered an issue like that (facials, exfoliating and keeping the skin healthy and nourished helps with that issue as well).
By no means do I believe that this can replace your proper, full-proof facial sunscreen. It is in imperative step in your daily routine. During summertime, we are even more careful with sunscreen. For now, we think this product can cover some basic needs. It's ideal for younger ages (especially men) who tend to skip skincare steps. If a man finds a product that'll offer two benefits in one, why pass on it?
Depending on my daily skin needs, I customize the products I'll end up using. There are days during the winter that I'll need an extra layer of moisturizer. Even though the Effaclar cream can be used as a primer, I'll still want to use my all-time favorite primer which has SPF, thank you very much. The bottom line is that while I don't use this product daily, it's still a favorite that I reach for. Admittedly, I still have some scars left from my acne days; this cream truly helps with the scars.
As we mentioned earlier and will be repeating for the rest of our days, SPF needs to be reapplied throughout the day. A perfect product for those on the go, is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Face Mist SPF 50+. It's the perfect item for those who spend most of the day exposed in the sun and don't have adequate time to be thorough with sunblock.
What are your thoughts on this item? Love or hate? Let us know in the comments below. Don't forget, add SPF!
- SPF is known to sting eyes, please be careful as to not go near your eyes with this product
- A pea size amount is enough for the entire face and neck area.
- Always remember to top up with a facial sunscreen throughout the day.
